Miami-Dade county (also called Metro-Dade
County) includes the city of Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, and 27 separate
localities. Sixty percent of the county is "unincorporated"; that is, it doesn't
have a city charter. The county is a mix of dense urban areas, populated suburbs
and rural areas.
Greater Miami is home to over 2 million residents,
representing diverse cultures from around the world.
Greater Miami and the Beaches is spread over 2,000 square
miles at the southeastern tip of the Florida peninsula. The Intracoastal
Waterway separates mainland Miami from the island of Miami Beach, which is
located directly on the Atlantic Ocean.

Dec through May are generally dry and sunny
with an average temperature of 60-85 degrees F. Average rainfall: 2.14 inches
per month, with June through Nov as the rainy season. Hotter and more humid.

is a major export gateway to Latin America. Miami is an international tourist
